Leave a Legacy
Following the successful public launch of “The Legacy and the Promise — LAU Campaign for Excellence” in October 2008, Lebanese American University (LAU) introduced “The Bench and Seat Campaign” in March of this year. Alumni, faculty and staff now have the unique opportunity to name a seat at Irwin Hall or Selina Korban Auditorium for only $500, or a bench on the Beirut or Byblos campus for $5,000.
“The moment I clicked the ‘send’ button of the mass email appeal announcing the bench and seat-naming campaign to our alumni worldwide as well as our faculty and staff, responses came from everywhere,” says Lana Abou Teen, LAU graduate and assistant director of development. “The campaign definitely grabbed their attention. It also gained momentum with our participation in the alumni homecomings and reunions in July on the Beirut and Byblos campuses, when dozens of alumni expressed interest in this initiative.”
Nicole Barghoud, an LAU alumna and assistant director of development, adds, “Many of our alumni expressed gratitude for the unrivaled education they obtained and for the challenges they were able to meet at LAU. Their commitment to the university will begin a ripple effect of change that will resonate for years to come.”
By making these generous donations, alumni, faculty and staff will keep lasting memories of their days at LAU, celebrate their achievements, honor a loved one, remember a friend, and support the university in its ongoing pursuit of excellence.
